Are the ones you're having problems with more extensively locked then
the ones that work fine? Or maybe included in more/difference scene groups?
Known bugs aside, I suspect XSI internally operates by some kind of
tagging mechanisms for grouping, and it wouldn't be too absurd if deep
locking or other grouping tags could prevent something to properly get
or inherit the exclusive group tag of a partition. I've seen behaviours
indicative of something on those lines before, and it might be worth
having a quick look into it if you have the time to.
