ha, it works :)
since i read the list (v4) i dont recall that this came up. i remember
spdl hacking, but not just simply save a preset(or overwrite the
original one).
there is a similiar function in fusion, where you can save a preset
for a tool AND you can save a new default right away. that is a very
much easy and fast way to change the way the tools get created.
something like this could be nice here as well. i dont know if i would
always find the right preset for the operator iam opening.
bradley, the explorer trick doesnt quite work for me. i import an obj
and wanna weld it. i open an explorer (5), resize it so it covers all
the viewports and then execute the weld operator. now xsi sits there
and calculates the weld. anything i do wrong here?

it sounds like a very nifty trick. however it doesnt work with polygon
reduction or my weld boundary points/edges.
i added a value = 0.01 to my weld spdl, but it doesnt work. the value
doesnt get set when i run the command (restarted xsi).
