agreed. but they should implement something Adam Ferrall has mentioned to me many a time...
a general file handle event, partnered with drag and drop events so we can handle any file type. then softimage uses the same api to implement file types it supports so people that dont need to extend the functionality still get what they need.

It's quite painful, to always go to File>Import> EPS> (choose).... if u have many outside files.
(the only quick way I have found to automate opening the File Browser dialog was to copy the 'import' command logged in the script editor and run it....)
