I've been following this thread in the bg.. and thought I would
chime in..
Storing a Point Oven reader in a reference model Res with geo
only and having it reference the files generated by the PO baker works
like a charm.
As for the problems that have been discussed associated with
making complete changes to the character rig and character throughout
production, the work I've been doing with MOTOR has got me to thinking
that associating it with reference models might be the way around this
problem Retargeting works with mixer and keyframe data on top of mocap,
so adding a resolution for targeting animation to vastly altered rigs
should do the trick.
very interesting discussion though.
I like the strength and the flexibility of the new referencing
system, especially working with Deltas. At least we can agree that
every iteration is getting us a wee bit closer to what we've been
expecting.
