I just tried that and it works too. Select either the path or the
profile, choose the command, and pick a new curve.

Well substitute input works with curve deforms or extruding a poly along
a curve but I think Eric is talking about taking an EPS curve and
extruding a mesh from curves. It would be handy to substitute an input
for this sort of thing.
