2560x1600 = 4096000
but thats being anal.
even a single 24" is great to work with, XSI
behaves very well on it.
the dells are ok and they come at a very good
price.
A nice sharp, contrasted image, and a minimum of
artefacts, trailing,... (need good cables!)
For my home use I wouldnt/didnt
hesitate.
But mind that color accuracy is not so good.
The whites go all the way around the spectrum
without ever really being white. They also change alot during a day's use
- first they need to warm up, in order to get a decent contrast. But
after a few hours when they heat too
much, it gets real hard to see nuances in the dark
zones.
A real pain in lighting: the renders in the
morning dont look the way they did when you launched them in the
evening.
I've noticed this on at least a dozen of them so
its not an isolated issue.
They're not bad monitors at all, certainly
compared to the competition, but they do have their
limitations.
If you wanna go for something more reliable, check
the NEC Spectraview 2690.
More expensive than the 30 inch even, but you get
what you pay for: 26 inches of color
calibrated goodness.
For studio-wide, reliable viewing they are a
treat. After these, you dont want to go back.
