Houdini put together a very good special session and their update to version
9 is quite amazing, specially cool is that it is now just a make up change,
their user interaction model and clever behavior did really impress us. The
party was pretty shitty to be a 20th aniversary but then again, their
updates to the product were amazing all forgiven.

Natural Motion showed Morpheme, Endorphin and euphoria. Clearly they are
trying to redefine how to do motion editing for games and from the special
sessions I can tell looked really good. Will they be the ones to redefine
animation for non-games??? Let's see.

Massive 3 seems to have mental ray as a new renderer (great) and a quite a
few new tools to make our lives easier. The meeting group was huge compared
to last years and you could see by the work done the AI industry is
maturing.

Air was shown along with Massive and man, that was a rocket!!! Great work
guys! If anyone is thinking in using PRMan think twice, fully raytraced
crowds, occlusion and more at almost not extra time.

Mental ray did organize a little UMG cocktail and was really nice, not many
people, great food, direct access to the developers and we were discussion
version 3.6, amazing speedups in many cases. Loving their upcoming product
mental mill.

Zbrush 3 did really what we expected, pusher pullers have become sculptors,
I wish there was something like that for animation. Clearly Zbrush deals
with scuptors in a different way and their texturing and manipulation
capabilities do outshine the easiness of mudbox.

And I think I miss a lot but this was my impression of Siggraph.
