I had issues over the farm with this 'internal' caching though.
Kinda got by by using point-caching for now; but it seems like it would be nice to be able to cache an initial state, or be able to offset the animation by such vague methods like re-numbering the cache files etc.

AFAIK It's cached into memory until you save the scene. Then it's written to the scene file itself, nothing less.
Recently I found out that when using reference models the cache is not saved with the scene file. Seems like a nice feature for me :-)

Hey all
Actually I'm posting for someone else who was wondering where XSI stores the softbody simulations... is it stored nternally in the scene or some hidden cache on the box?

Thanks!
Ajit
