Hi Bilka,

thanks very much for that link, it´s exactly what I needed
and even inspiring when watching the video.

I didn´t realize storeInChannel is that powerful to use!

Cheers

tim

hello, you define your channel in rendertree it's a node : Nodes/Render channels/storeInchannel you need to connect what you store in channel like incidence mixed with phong specular for exemple.. here you can use the predefined channel ... color, ambiant .... or Add a new one more specific : channel_incidence_spec after in your pass option you can add a new pass channel with your new channels.

you can see a video here : http://softimage.com/products/xsi/videos.aspx?video_id=27

I wouldn´t want to but into the other thread: Subject: RE: 6.x rendermanager

As I have some more practical questions,
mostly regarding passorganization&setup,
not tokens.

*How do I create a channel with select objects in it, something Chinny showed on the Roadshow for 6?

*Where can I read up on this?

*Why can I save a Pass preset, only to realize it´ll
not just help re-using rendersettings like crop and
AA, FB and such but also recreate Partitions and
rendercameras. Nice, but how do I create a template
just for a specific set of channels, naming conventions
and AA settings?

*Where can I read up on this?

Cheers

tim

P.S: I like the rendermanager alot, would love to get
used to it more so I can make best use extra channels,
as diskspace is cheap and arbitrary numbers of masks
a must for comping.
