I've also noticed a lot of cg work in England over the past 6-12 months. I've also noticed that a lot of houses in England are offering 2 week or 4 week positions. Perhaps some people thrive on short gigs like that but not me, if i'm going short term 1 year is minimum.

Interesting topic.

New York is a city I'd love to work in but I have to agree with the
others here who've talked about VISA's. I can't pretend to have ever
looked very deeply into the subject but whenever I've talked with
anyone about the issue by the end of the chat I'm left thinking
there's sod all chance of ever getting out there.
It's a shame as it sounds like NYC is doing really well at the moment
and I hope these xsi houses keep at it and find the people they need.

Having said that it's the same thing over here in London at the
moment. I've had so many emails of late asking if I know any modelers,
TDs, etc, who can start ASAP!! I think it might have something to do
with the sheer amount of Film work in London.. I'm wondering if a lot
of users are currently filling these positions leaving more commercial
based houses with a bit of a fight on their hands?

Simon
