Hi Michele,

I can reproduce here on Linux with both 5.11 and 6.02 -- both crash.

The good news is that I cannot repro with XSI 6.5 RC3, so it'll be fixed soon hopefully.

Cheers,

Hi everyone, I'm working on a MRay shader and I noticed something that seems really wrong with the data exported from Xsi to Mental Ray.

Here is a quick and easy way to reproduce the effects of this issue:
- start Xsi
- get a polygon mesh cube
- drag a render region, it will render the cube
- close the render region
- with the cube still selected, clic on Model > Create > Model > New model, the cube will be placed under a new model
- get another polygon mesh cube
- drag a render region again
- close the region again
- get a new scene (no need to save changes)
At this point Xsi will crash (5.11) or freeze (6.0x).

After traversing the data exported to Mental Ray, it looks like tags and names are not properly updated after every change in Xsi, which might lead to conflicts and crashes.

Any ideas? Can anyone confirm this or it's just me?

Ciao,
Michele
