I've just tried it here on 6.5 RC3, Michele. I'm getting repro.
I also tried shifting the first cube before rendering it - when I do
the second render only the new cube renders. Starting a new scene
after this render wipes out XSI completely.
Definitely something that's corrupt in the internal scene database
when this happens.
