Hi Andy,
I have the M1710 XPS, it's been a fantastic machine so far. XSI works fine as do most DTP orientated apps, 2D and 3D software. I'm running XP, not touching Vista until next year. The graphics card in the XPS is very good as well...worth the cash I'd say.

Hi guys,
Sorry to drag this recurring question up again. I need to get hold of a
laptop within the next three weeks and I was wondering if anyone had any
recommendations? I usually tend to go for Dell since I've always found their
PCs to be pretty reliable, and I was having a look at the XPS 1710 - it
seems pretty decent. The other question was whether to get it with XP or
Vista? My budget is looking to be around £1500, but could stretch up to
£1700.
Initially I'm not going to be using it for 3D work, but this may be a
possibility later on so performance is obviously key - as is delivery time
as I already mentioned.
Any suggestions?
