They absolutely need more people I think, although I wonder if it will
help if by now the software at version 6.5 or 7 is still very much all
in one or just a few person(s)' head. I tried to upgrade and got stuck
midway, and haven't been able to get xstream up and running since. They
have a really good product but they definitely need 24/7 support if it's
going to gain more traction.

They are horribly understaffed is my guess. They make great software,
but cannot afford to staff the people to support it properly.
They always do what they say they will, but at the same time,
they ALWAYS take a LOT longer to do it!
I know that doesn't help, but at least you are not alone.
