Their Python implementation isn't a full one like XSI's. XSI, you want to
use a new module you just install it on the computer. There's uses some
kind
of bodged up install of their own with a limited set of modules stuffed
into
the Vue install directory. I did work out how to install a new module but
it's messy as a dump on the carpet. Also, a lot of their scripting calls
don't work as advertised; they just don't get tested that much.
Vue is quirky as hell at the best of times. Pushing it into the largely
untested waters of scripting and pipeline can get real painful.
What's Z-up?

I dont think it's because they're french, but rather it's probably
because they're Z-up. :)
Actually last week I started poking around in to their python support,
and while somewhat limited it seems you might be able to do some
interesting things in the way of import/export and maybe bypass the
whole Xstream thing.
The Z-up factor is a bit annoying though.
