Clusters are not dynamic, they are just a cluster of components and your operator can read the cluster properties.
Of course, you can add or remove some components from a cluster with some XSI commands.

The problem is I want the cluster for an output of my operator -
doesn't need to be an input at all. - i.e. add and remove polygons to
it within the operator. Don't need to do any deformation at all.

I think you must add the cluster as an input for your operator.

For example if you want to create a custom deformer operator, add the
ActivePrimitive of your mesh as an input / output. As the deformer
operator will deal with points, you will need to create a cluster of
point and add it as an other input.

Then use Cluster.Elements method to only deal with the points return by
this method.

Hope this help.

Thanks Guillaume,

Any chance you also know whether it's possible for an operator to
dynamically add to or remove from a cluster? I'll get reading on this
as that would be all the problems sorted.

Alan.

Hi All,

I'd like to make an operator which can hide/unhide polygons. Just
posting here because I'm guessing this won't be possible.

If it is can anyone provide some pointers for where I can start looking?

Cheers,

Alan.
