I'm very sorry, it just happens once in a while without any clear hint
what exactly might have caused it. I can confirm though that we use
both, dotXSI and Ultimap on a daily basis.

Nope, this behaviour is related to something native inside of XSI. We
see it for years now and we don't have any third-party plugins
installed, except for our own tools which I can definately
assure do not
alter this setting.
