Sorry Adrian,
I replied to the wrong mail. My message was meant for Pingo's question about Helge's new addon. Sorry for the confusion. Coffee time :)

Techsmith would mean pre-compressing, and we need to run uncompressed dpx files

the djv viewer looks very promissing, will give it a go and report back

thanks

I'm taking a wild guess here but the Techsmith codec is probably needed?

try djv, http://djv.sourceforge.net/
it's still in beta, but looks promising.

Cheers,

hey guys, trying to find a SOFTWARE playback system for DPX files,
that DOESN'T cache in ram, we have a HUGE Systems 2Tb array that supports 2k realtime playback
(apparently) but no software to make it happen!
framecycler DDS works but costs a packet due to it being way over-specced (as i say, we ONLY want playback)
prefereably on Linux.....
any ideas?
sorry for the OT
