Yeah it does. The log gives
you the number of pixels across which your object traveled from the previous
frame to the current one.
So logically this number
should vary depending on your render resolution.
For the records, the
number is calculated based on your viewport dimension no matter how big your render
region is.
Other than that, I simply
believe it’d be useful to be able to switch between framebuffers in the preview
window.

I'm not a big fan of the render Preview but to my
knowledge previewing full-res is the only way to get an accurate Maximum Motion
evaluation in the script editor when working with the Motion framebuffer.
Have you looked at imf_disp? it sould be in
C:\Softimage\XSI_6.5\Application\bin
