The problem is that for Zpic, the filename must match the main pic output. Ie. "bob.1.pic" ==> "bob.1.zpic"

This is because Zpic doesn't carry any resolution information with it and must instead get it from the associated pic file. If the filenames (sans the frame number and extension) differ, the FXtree simply won't recognise the Zpic.

So you have to name the main and depth framebuffers the same (eg. drop the [framebuffer] token from both).

It seems that in XSI 6.5, Zchannels are broken. The file that comes out of the depth framebuffer when switched to Z pic softimage and float is not a Zpic that XSI can read afterwards in the FxTree or not a Zpic at all...Nice!
