XSI uses the bbox of the scene to figure out how to normalize the depth values *for display only*. This does not affect the file output, which always records the depth as distance, in units, from the camera.

I've been wondering if there's any way to over-ride XSI's (I'm using 6) Depth channel handling. It seems automated, in that the Zdepth always adapts to the most distant object in a scene. Since this is often the periphery of distant scenery, it would be nice to be able to move the Zdepths far value to a more useful point. Any way to do this short of rendering a seperate pass with the excellent zDepthDOF shader?
