But how can I get it into that and change those values, resulting in a
different Depth Channel? In Display Options, for example I can change
the Depth-Cue/ Fog 's Start and End Values...but thus far (and it may
very well be I have missed something really obvious) the Depth Channel
values seem locked away from me.... Halfdan Ingvarsson wrote: --- Unsubscribe? This does not affect the file output, which always records the depth as distance, in units, from the camera. - ½ -----Original Message----- From: owner-xsi(at)Softimage.COM [mailto:owner-xsi(at)Softimage.COM] On Behalf Of Mr Creighton Sent: 31-Oct-2007 10:25 To: XSI(at)Softimage.COM Subject: zpic in xsi 6.5 (related) I've been wondering if there's any way to over-ride XSI's (I'm using 6) Depth channel handling. It seems automated, in that the Zdepth always adapts to the most distant object in a scene. Since this is often the periphery of distant scenery, it would be nice to be able to move the Zdepths far value to a more useful point. Any way to do this short of rendering a seperate pass with the excellent zDepthDOF shader? ThierryBaret wrote:It seems that in XSI 6.5, Zchannels are broken. The file that comes out of the depth framebuffer when switched to Z pic softimage and float is not a Zpic that XSI can read afterwards in the FxTree or not a Zpic at all...Nice! And of course when trying to do a DOF in the FxTree afterwards it doesn't work because the zchannel hasn't got the same format than the main. Any clues on this really annoying "bug"? It saves out the .zpic and its around 1.6mb for a PAL frame but the fxtree nor the flipbook can read it.. i tried this in xsi 5.11 and it works fine as long as the output format is .pic could you actually try this in xsi to see if it works? I remember seeing other people on xsibase having the same problem but with no solution.. On 10/30/07, Luc-Eric Rousseau <lucer(at)softimage.com> wrote: |
