Zpic it stores the values in softimage units, so normally it's in at compositing
stage that you would pick the range of interest.
 
For the 8-bit display in the browser, thumbnails and flipbook, a special
formula is used to show something interesting.
For its own purpose, when loaded in the fxtree, all the Zpic values are
divided by -100000 to remap everything between 0.0 and 1.0.
Using the pixel parser you could re-multiply the values to get back into
a range that you like.

What's written to disk....I'd like to be able to have some control over the Depth render channel if possible. Largely because rendering a channel avoids the extra time of a pass.
