Can I make ragdolls without scripting?
Is there some kind of tutorials for this specific case or can you give me some gidelines, I already had sucess with creating and importing actors, but after that??
Thanks.

What about Behavior??? Have you tried to accomplish your ragdolls simulation with it?
I've done a couple of ragdoll simulations with it and it was successful and very fast to setup (no need to build and constraint a rig with RBDs).
I believe Behavior can be a good solution for your case specially that you have a lot of ragdoll simulated characters in your scene.

Anyone using Endorphin or something geared towards rag-dolls? If so, how well does it work with XSI? Sounds like having rag doll like performance built into xsi would be nice without the ridiculous set up time.

Version 5 and prior had an issue where it couldn't handle rigid bodies that were in a hierarchy. If you're using 5 and you're working on a ragdoll then it's probably in a hierarchy which means you're probably stuffed. If you're in 6 I wouldn't like to say without having tried it on a ragdoll setup but RBDs are pretty good in 6, if you have the patience.
Caches can screw up. Any time I've done anything like this I've kept a version of my RB setup prior to any caching so I can revert to start with minimum of pain. It seemed to be the only reliable way to fix cache problems.
Don't use flat planes as collision objects and make sure you subdivide any cubes. And be prepared to mess a lot with RB properties.
Have you committed to doing this or are you still testing.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but..... you will never get this to work (in v5 at least.)
I wasted an entire week trying to do just this, and between myself and support we simply couldn't do it...
If I remember correctly we may have had success using only hinges... but I ended up with nothing that was useable in a production.
They say that certain bugs were fixed in v6+ however I had the opportunity to try one of the old scenes from that old project and got the same results.
Sorry again!

Try saving on Frame 1 and then restarting XSI. I have had similar issues with RBs in 602 whereby i have a nice similation, dont change anything at all but yet when i rewind and play again it changes. Make sure you set initial state too. Very odd though i dont understood why it sometimes happens..

Hi,
I have a shot where I have avout 20 characters (all the same) that are falling on the floor, the I'm trying to use rigid bodys and constraint.
I made my setup and it's working, now I want to duplicate it then rotate and translate each one to haave some kind of random poses at the
frame 1.
sometimes it's working, sometimes not, (the simulation is screwed up)
any advice or experiences?
Thanks
