how do you save it so that it's not an xml
document but an xsiaddon again? This always seems to snag me every time :(

i made a jscript version for the large amount of people
without python installed... i converted it from python, replaced only syntax
and the regexp section so dont critique the code :) and ya their maybe some
bugs. its been almost a year since i wrote any jscript plugins.

is the drag and drop obj plugin until later when i can blog about it...
it uses a custom preference in case you need to change the import
options of the dropped obj file. found under file>preferences>custom

How about dragging and dropping of things like OBJ, 3DS and FBX
files...that would be nice. Kris

I think the same. Specially using two displays I usually run one
XSI (the one with ref models) without floating windows... so I dont
get confused which window belongs to which session. Just leave the
windows inside the viewports.
I really wish to be able to
drag stuff between two XSI sessions.... also: -I wish to drag a
model from the browser and XSI ask if I want to use it as a ref
model or not.. so I can drag multiple -I really want to be able
to drag Models from the explorer to one folder into the browser,
then XSI make it a refmodel. This way could work with multiple
models. -be able to drag models between two different XSI
sessions :) drag/copy shader... :D

no..... i mean if you
have a floating explorer associated with each app, its impossible
to distinguish which one is which. and leads to a modest amount
of frustration for me, but perhaps it isnt a widespread issue,
just checking.

Can you
check out the scene name in the title bar? Is that
enough?
im sure this has all been
mentioned before but:
i often run two copies of xsi
at the same time, ie render scene in one and a referenced model
open in another. but now we have floating windows its
impossible to distinguish which window is associated with which
copy of xsi i have open.
it would be good if their was
some visual feedback (ie lower contrast) on the copy of xsi not
in focus.
dragging and droping elements between 2
copies of xsi would also be great (passes, materials, models etc
etc....)
