That's the biggest difference between Massibe and Behavior.
In Behavior, you must script EVERYTHING. The animation blending is automatic though.
In Massive, you don't script anything, but you must provide all the transition animations.

As Kim said, the whole process of exporting to Behavior, developing the simulation, exporting to mi2 files and rendering takes a lot of work. Once it's done and you are familiar with it, you can do it quite easily and fast. But if you do it only once a year, you forget parts of it and you must do it all over again.

Hello, at work we have a Behavior DVD with quite a lot of video
tutorials. It's a very good overview of Behavior's capabilities.
Try putting your hands on it by contacting Softimage, I think they used
to package it with XSI v5 or something.

I believe that what you want to do can be done easily in Behavior, just
plan some time for reading the tuts about how to threat your rig and
clips beforehand.
Now this is kind of a useless rant but here goes: there is a lack of
design in this app that makes it bothersome to people who expect to see
Softimage's intuitive workflow in Behavior. You'll quickly realize that
you have to script every single task in order to reach a reasonable
production workflow and that includes basic stuff like synchronizing
your camera animation with your scene. That said the possibilities are
almost endless. The animation blending features are nice and the custom
pipeline for rendering directly in MR is super fast but you can still
export your resulting animation to XSI.

As others said, do not to use 2.11 and make sure to check out these
tools: http://www.inframez.com/3d_behaviortools_content.htm

Enjoy!

    Hello everybody

Now at my work I have to make some crowd simulations (a few
thousands of characters) with on-place animation (no walking).

I don't know if uses behavior or make my own crowd tools (I have
experiences on smaller crowds and scripting and plugin developed).

My dude is because I don't find a lot of information on Softimage site.

Is Behavior deprecated by Softimage? Is Behavior use by studios on
    production?

My dude is not about this specific work (every work is a world) , my
dude is if Behavior is a good tool to learn.

    Thanks in advanced
