OK I have a theory about this. I think there's a collision between the zbump spdl and the new bumpmap spdl. It looks like Softimage changed the name of the "step" input to "spacing" but didn't change the GUID when they made the bumpmap spdl. I don't know why the problem is only intermittent.

Anyway, I've uploaded a new ZBump with its "step" GUID changed:

http://shaders.moederogall.com/ZBump7b7.zip

Or you could just try changing the GUID yourself.

Hope it works,
Ben

have you tried the "deleting your XSI user folder trick" yet? :)
in many cases when xsi starts getting weird, and nothing helps, I delete
my xsi user folder,
and restarts it.

it's partially voodoo, but it might work :)

I have a weird problem with Zbump. I use it a lot - also in XSI6.x since
it provides two inputs. I just finished a production where I used it and
it worked fine. Now all of a sudden I have lost the spacing control
inside the PPG and I get this error message (and black renders) :
' WARNING : API 0.2 warn 302017: illegal argument "spacing" for
function call to "zbump"
 What gives?
I have not installed anything in XSI lately other that trying to
reinstall Zbump Beta6 which I was using and now installing the latest
version for XSI6.x - same problem.
Any ideas will be much appreciated.
