Point Oven? With LW and Maya it works ok, no idea with Max, but it probably does, it's not free, but it's not so expensive.

constraints and up vectors. Camera looktos are handled in different ways in different programmes, this may have something to do with it.
All that said, I usually managed to find a way around it either by rigging
or plotting and I was never stuck. It's inconvenient, granted, but it's rarely a huge problem.
