might be a long shot...but what about a black magic intensity? its hdmi in / out, so you could pump the output from video card into the intensity, then back out to the monitor, whilst recording (it does 1920x1080 recording I believe...so plenty of res im guessing)...although you might need some sort of dvi splitter as well if you wanted

Hi Phil,
still no answers yet? Maybe you want to give Wisdom's AutoScreenRecorder a try. It seems to be able to capture 1024+ resolutions at 30fps. There's a free version too. http://www.wisdom-soft.com/products/autoscreenrecorder.htm

Hi all

I want to use screen capture recording software / hardware to record an interactive application that includes a lot of processor-intensive animation at 1024 by 768. As we need to show the interactivity, it needs to be a screen capture.

I can’t use Camtasia or similar because it’s dependant on the CPU for displaying AND recording the images to the hard drive and therefore drops too many frames (fine for tutorials but we are showcasing work that needs to run at the full frame rate).

I’ve tried Virtual VCR alongside Hmelyoff Labs' custom driver VHScrCap to pass much of the workload over to the graphics card and the number of dropped frames is half that of Camtasia. However, there are still dropped frames and I’m restricted to PAL resolution.

Does anyone know of dedicated hardware to solve this problem? Maybe two machines linked together?

Any help much appreciated.
