Dou you guys generally prefer Acclaim *.asf over Biovision *.bvh files?
There is an institutional project (I´m googling the link currently) that has gazillions of motioncapture data free to use, afaik *.bvh
There´s also all sorts of converters and tools and some info:
http://www.okino.com/conv/exp_bvh.htm http://www.davedub.co.uk/bvhacker/ http://www.cs.wisc.edu/graphics/Courses/cs-838-1999/Jeff/BVH.html
as well as some free sample files (requires account) http://www.animazoo.com/Free_downloads.aspx
Regarding Endorphine, there´s no Learning edition for Massive but Endorphin has one, haven´t installed it yet but will do so soon, loads of tutorial files, too: http://www.naturalmotion.com/downloads.htm
I´m not really much of an animator, especially no character animator due to strong shortcomings in rigging skills mostly, therefor having some sort of standard bonelayout to cling to sounds even more helpful to me, at least for getting an idea how to layout my own rigs to be compatible?
Cheers
tim

Regarding the transfer of pixel aspect in Massive for the version I last used I don't think it can come thru a CAM file. I believe it's only set directly in the .mas scene file.
The skeleton in Massive is actually quite similiar to the way Maya skeletons work. It's basically just a hierarchy of transforms (without an extra IK root or effector). Not sure what Motionbuilder does but XSI really dirties up the ASF hierarchy too by adding a bunch of dummy roots and effectors that are very unfriendly to getting clean AMC data back out.
The way around it in XSI was to build a clean version of the ASF hierarchy using only nulls and constrain them to a generic biped rig to plot out.
From there you can go out to fbx

Massive also has Ragdoll stuff in it too!! No real need for Endorphin.
