I’ve seen it too, not that long ago and I’d never seen it before either. You may be right about it being a channels thing. It may also be a 6.5 thing. Have you tried running a test of pass against channel with a comp, just to see what happens?

i think I've had this before and I cant remember how it was fixed...
Could it be your anti-aliasing settings inside the ambient occlusion node? Not accurate enough?

Strange!

Tried premultiply in after fix, tried math comp in the composite, tried photoshop......the problem only shows up on some geometry in the frame, not all of it so it can't be the way I'm comping. it seems to have something to do with frame buffering... it doesn't fix the problem but bakes it less apparent ???????????????????

the way you comp your passes can be effected by the aliasing. How are you applying the ambient occlusion?

hi alan
It's not a premultiply thing.... I'm shure of that

Chris:
what do you mean ""aliasing 'fringing' type thing"" ?? because the aliasing is the same for both passes

Is it more of an aliasing 'fringing' type thing, rather than passes not lining up?

I have a strange problem when rendering different passes
They don't line op in some places but do in others. My render settings are identical for the different passes.
I've attached an example of a ambient occlusion render comped over a flat color render The same happens on other passes but not on the same geometry

render
Has anyone seen this before????
