Subject : fryrender 1.9 anyone?
Hi,

I wonder if there are people allready using the fryrender engine
from feversoft, http://www.fryrender.com/

I had a hard time today trying to get the fryrender 1.9 beta demo
running from inside XSI 6.02 on XP64, e.g. the fry_XSI.dll
wouldn´t install correctly, somehow the addon seems buggy.
Spport is kind enough and responsive but I still ended up
unable to get the XSi plugin to work from either XSI 6.02 32bit
or XSI 6.02 64bit, both running on XP64. Is there a catch?

Anyone gor something out of it?

The renderer itself didn´t produce stellar results for the Cornell
caustics sample scene (q6600/30min calc time/~100mio samples)
but still seems promising, especially since there are plugins for
both Maya and XSI, 3DS Max anyway (theoretically..).

Unbiased rendering is something to get used to, so I don´t
want to nitpick too much but instead would like hear other´s
opinion on fryrender or Maxwell? You got something out of
it allready, more than stills?

Cheers

tim
