If you save 3 or more states, and use curvilinear interpolation, you can get pretty close. Other then that, interpolating something as a rotation would be a downright nightmare to be honest, and is prone to error in a pretty wide spectrum of situations unless you add data and processing overhead enough to slap your box stupid.

Use spline interpolation and you'll probably get what you want for organic work (for things like plotting an airplane propeller or a chopper's blades you're pretty much out of luck, and better off introducing transformation plotting in your pipe).
