Hey,

the xsilo library is released under LGPL.
It provide sib/sia file format native support
Displacement data, edge creasing, object and component groups (clusters), uv preservation
It is distributed with a plugin for maya, a plugin for xsi and a python wrapper.
You can access the files as a zip archive or throuth svn (recommended to update the code) here
