Ya we succeeded in bringing long hair in Houdini for better “long hair dynamics” but the wire solver is way too slow for a whole head…

 

If you’ve looked at Helge Mathee’s entry on http://www.xsi-blog.com/archives/21 about the hair dynamic plug-in he wrote for XSI you’ll see how fast it can be! Unfortunately it’s not available.

 

Houdini seems good for short hair but then if it’s just for short hair dynamics I believe XSI can handle them fairly nicely, no? Unless you have very specific needs that it can’t solve?

Then if you need to write those curves in a .geo file for Houdini, you can ask me too (but I don't know on which list :P ).
