We used .mdd's for this project: http://www.broadcast.co.il/dispVideo.asp?PID=40&OID=94&DivID=8

worked really good, rigging and animation done in XSI, all the rest in maya.
It's was fairly a simple project, so we didn't face any real problems with point oven.

point oven licenses are very cheap if I remember correctly..

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Maya plugins allow you to read Point
Oven's mdd files. mdd file export is built-in XSI....

 Hello

Does anyone have any advice/info about point caching to enable transfer of
animation from XSI to maya. KP_pointcaching looked promising until I looked
closely and saw there was no Maya reader. I had heard a couple of negative
comments about point-oven regarding flakiness and slowness. Any advice
appreciated.

 Thanks
