Well, from my limited experience, its higher polycount models that benefit - viewport navigation around dense models was a lot smoother for me once I'd swapped cards from 8800gtx to quadro 4500 (5fps to 40fps in shaded view). Animation playback wasn't affected so much because its more cpu dependent. There were also a couple of niggles I was having (one selection issue in the AE and a glitch in xray shaded view that only came up occasionally that were resolved with the quadro. Power requirements for the 8800 cards are crazy, plus it was a LOT hotter. No serious issues though, apart from fitting it in the case!

In all probably not worth it for full price quadro cards, unless your company is willing to shell out.

thanx for the info.
would you guys say that the quadro cards are that much better for xsi
than the gaming cards.... I've been doing 3d for 8 years and have never
used a quadro. so far the gaming cards seemed fine
Where exactly would one see the difference between a geforce 8800 gt and
a quadro fx 3500m except the price tag....?
