Having also previously owned 8800 gts SC, it could barely match even the
low end quadros concerning high polycount OGL interaction. Per poly price
is lower in quadro range and gf 8800 was not that much better from gf 6xxx
series cards clocked the same. Realtime shaders I don't use that much and
might be a different story, seriously gf is still a game card. Hardly none
believes, but what do I care. Instead of benchmarking utilities, or
listening the loud majority, try to get a test by yourself and try with
the softwares and conditions you use. Depends on your needs. Current
animation workstation investment went to highest performance per cpu core
and as good quadro I could get, if I had to decide now. I'm poor enough to
know. Again rendering is another story. Moondust is something we mortal
people don't know about.

plus it was a LOT hotter. No serious issues though, apart from fitting
it in
the case!
In all probably not worth it for full price quadro cards, unless your
company is willing to shell out.

used a quadro. so far the gaming cards seemed fine
Where exactly would one see the difference between a geforce 8800 gt and
a quadro fx 3500m except the price tag....?
