google for a review of the quadro fx 4600 and the ATI fireGL7600. Sorry, don't have the link right now. Conclusion was the ATi card performes nearly the same in opengl applications and is half the price. I just ordered one, after I got totally disappointed by a geforce 8800 gtx.

Hey Fabrice,

I just got my new machine and it’s equipped with a Quadro FX 4600.

So far so good. Everything is smooth, be it XSI, Maya or MAX.

Cheers

MAC

Hi list,

here we go again.

What would be your recommendations for a pro graphics card without paying

top crazy price for an Quadro FX5600  ?

It would be used for all XSI general tasks ( model, anim, sim etc...) on medium to heavy scenes.

I read from older posts that the Quadro FX 4600 has good all round performance.

What about ATI cards ? Anyone using those ?

Is there still a huge performance/stability gap with Geforce cards ?

Thanks in advance ,

F.
