Ah ok. Was that added recently? I swear to God I checked for this
download many times and it's the first time I see it. Oh well, must be
getting older....

I tried that. But then it only allowed me to modify or repair the
installation. In both cases, nothing happened, in that it immediately
said it had done everything. Never did it proposed to me to install or
uninstall the SPM server.

mmm somehow I find this new way of doing things a lot more
error-prone. For instance, I remember the first time I did the install
with this new system. I already had a SPM server running (although an
older version), but then when I got to the window asking me if I
wanted to use this computer or another one for the server, I got
confused as to what would happen with the existing installation.....
Perhaps adding a "I already have SPM server on my machine" option
would clarify things.

Anyway, back to the issue.... since today, for some reason, seems like
the dongle won't be reached. The server is up and running, the dongle
is listed as usual in the device manager. However, I get the unable to
get interactive license message when I launch XSI.

So I figured I could try to reinstall the key. I renamed the existing
key. Now, when I install the key, the license manager freezes, until I
terminate the process. If I try again, I get the spm fatal error
saying it can't connect to the dongle. All further attempts raise this
error. If I reboot and try again, the license manager freezes, I have
to kill it, then get spm fatal errors.

I guess I should try reinstalling the dongle driver?

Btw, the only change on my machine (afaik) since last use were updates
to the AVG anti-virus.
