Ahh - I get what you're saying now. I was a maya user before XSI, but
I just use alt so much (alt+F1-4 to switch desktops in linux), alt+7
for the texture editor.
For modifying the function of various interactive tools - like being
able to loop select. If I tried that with alt navigation than I'd be
spinning the camera when I want to select an edge.
I'm pretty much just S for most camera navigation - though seems I
different on that one.
Though having said all this I appreciate the navigation can let
someone get basics running quickly.
If we're ditching something why are we calling the XSI key users out
for not changing rather than the maya guys? ;-)
