Re: install XSI on Ubuntu

I'm going to install the Xubuntu x86 version and try it out myself. I hope it'll work... Everything I've tried under Ubuntu amd64 didn't work. Can't even get it to start. :-(

I saw that Jordi Bares runs xsi on his Macbook pro. So it has to be
possible.
          

I'm not sure how Jordi's running it - he may be dual/triple booting
with windows,
or using parallels (though I don't know anything about this product - may
not
support 3d hardware acceleration).
        

Nothing special, I did install bootcamp, reformat the partition to ext3,
install Xubuntu, then download the Gnome desktop and install it too, then I
went thourgh the process of configuring the network and wireless, tried to
configure the sound but still have not managed... Nothing really special.

In fact I may have been lucky as this is the 1st time I do install linux
so...
