ATI firegl 7600 rectangle selection bug

Hi list,

I'm having issues here when rectangle selecting objects. All other selecting
modes as freeform, lasso and raycast work properly. Only the standard
selection is quite slow. For some reason installing older drivers for xp64
will give an error message that says "graphics hardware or OS not supported"
So I'm stuck to the newest (8.44) driver atm...
I already contacted ATI but did not get an answer yet.
I tried with xp64 and vista64.
Does anyone had this issue?
