Hi Byron, not really sure if I got it right, but are you looking for a
projection, or just a method for having the object more transparent the
closer we look at the center?
If the latter is your one (and as you say the object is almost
spherical) in the render tree you can have a Scalar2Vector pointing (by
expressions) to the center of the object, then a vector_state set to
"intersection point", then a vector_math_vector subtracting the twos.
Plug this into a Vector_Math_Scalar set to Length of V1, and this one
into a change range where you clamp the max and min value to that you need.
Use this output to drive a gradient, or the transparency of your material...
This should do the trick in your case...
