I just remembered.. hostican.com hosted someone's blog that was on the
Digg.com frontpage a few days ago with some post about "getting into
the webhosting business", but it was down after just a couple hundred
diggs, showing some error page regarding bandwidth. Pure irony.

Anyway, I wouldn't put too much weight in those words saying
"UNMETERED BANDWIDTH" at the top, or unlimited anything anywhere for
that matter. Often what (far too) many webhosts do, including a few
popular ones, is -oversell-. They offer -big- numbers for -little
money- and then when you do get the traffic that requires those
resources, turns out there was some fine print in the TOS regarding
CPU load usage and you find out it's "technically impossible" for your
site to fully use up those bijillion terabytes of promised bandwidth
because doing so would increase the server load to unacceptable
levels.

A good thing to do is do a Google search for "<insert hosting company
here> sucks". ;)
(Try this one: "dreamhost sucks".)

Cheers,
