Maybe I missed something, but have you tried walking on the mesh projection?

You can drape the NURBS surface over your islands via shrinkwrap, then do the transfer.  Just make sure to use a highly subdivided grid whose contours match your islands.  Once shrinkwrapped, you can slide the points around quickly to fit the contours.  In fact, I'd recommend wrapping the surface when it's simple so you can match the contours quickly, then crank up the subdivisions in the grid's geometry tab of it's PPG to make it cling to the surface more accurately for the GATOR transfer.  Whether they're to scale is irrelevant.  All you care about is getting a flat layout of your UVs.  Once GATOR copies the data over, you can resize and move your islands around as necessary.
 
Think of it like projecting a texture onto a jigsaw puzzle.  Once the projection is applied, each piece's UVs can be resized and moved around to fit whatever image is applied to it.  The important part is the UVs on each piece are laid out nice and flat like you originally requested.

GATOR, that's one thing I never tried yet. But having 20+ islands to texture, I'm not sure if I'll be

using NURBS to texture. Some of them are not so 'quad'y.

use the relax tool, but if it doesn't work and your object is simple enough you can make a NURBS grid with a UV texture map and wrap it around your object, then transfer the UV coordinates using GATOR.

Hi list,

Anything to achieve this result faster?

Right now, I'm selecting all the vertex / edges and align.

But basically I need exactly the way on the right.

Tried all tools but couldn't find what I want.

 

You can't even loop select or range select… L
