A native solution is a guarantee that the feature is available across
all platforms and, in case of new releases, properly maintained.

Swinging very slightly off-topic; there seems to be a general perception
that builtin tools are somehow better than those that find to XSI from 3rd
parties. There are rare occasions when that's the case but for the most part
any 'built in' tool put there by Softimage would use the same SDK that 3rd
party developers have at their disposal. There's usually very little
difference between the way a 3rd party tool and a built in tool works.

You know what I'd love to see? Is a build in After Effects Exporter in
XSI. Yes I know there solutions and scripts out there which are great
and I'm sure there loads of us are thankful to the people out there who
have taken the time to write and solve them, but man, for a
file-export-afx, that would be great. I mean C4D exports passes and
info to After Effects so simply, even building a pre-comp. I'm sure
loads of us ether comp in after effects or pass stuff onto people who
comp in after effects. Any why, thats what I'd like right now, a big
red button that says: Export all to After Effects (ok wishful thinking
on the all part.
