I have 32 bit centos 5.1, so not really help from me. What I can give you atm is working configuration of fc6 x86_64 and xsi_6.5. It serves as file server and slave, opteron 170, el cheapo via chip. Not really experience with workstation use. If I could choose I'd make Centos 5.1 run rather than fedora. Many versions have been extremely easy to make run on 64 bit linux some without any tweaks. I'll leave details for Alan. Fedora had some compatibility libs you had to install, same ought to be found in CentOS those should be very close package wise 2.6.8 and 2.6.22 kernels.
Config:

Updated kernel once and some other stuff, after that I could use it only as slave.
Full rpm -qa gives you the configuration I failed run xsi:

If you have any further questions I might answer later, this eve I might not be able to write english anyone could understand.

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone here has installed XSI 6.5 on CentOS 5.1 64bit and managed to get it to work?
Any tricks that I need to think of when installing 32bit XSI on 64bit Linux?
