Hm, I'll check that with other applications I use..

Yes that would cause me quite a bit of headache, since i really like
the project structure.. We work a lot with offsite freelancers so
those are really nice to ensure no absolute paths mess up scenes,
when I pack and ship chunks of the project.

I'll investigate this a bit further.
I'll report that to SI (I'm sure others did before, but
still...). I'm working with other 3D packages here as well as Fusion,
and Fusion crawls the exact same directories and does the same
sequence-detection, without any noticable speed loss..
So there must be something wrong on the softimage side.
