Title: failed to write photon array data
yeah i tried that and it worked as a technique until it tried fg with fast lookup and it tries to resave the .phmap even though it's set to off. It's not recalculating - just trying to save it.

had that too, nearly one year ago. i think it was an os thing. if you´re writing a sequence - what i did - you could write a script which copies the file from your local drive to the server, after the frame has finished . so you have them all in one location for reuse ...

been fiddling with GI and FG together but getting a problem when trying to write large photon maps to a server. Works fine when writing to the local C drive but "fails to write photon array data" and write the .phmap when using the server. I've seen some old threads here and on the mntal ray forum but the tailed of before a solution was posted. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and found the cause? It seems to be purely the network aspect of it  as a local version works fine.

cheers,

Andi.
